Hello! Let's talk.
Questions about a production, a class, a partnership, or a story you want to tell?
We build with communities, not for them — reach out to learn more.
Theatre as a Tool for Community Power
Ruby Hill Productions believes that the stage is a site of power — a place where historically excluded communities can claim space, share their truths, and shape the narratives that define them. Our community engagement programs are designed not as outreach, but as structural investment in the people of Southwest Denver. We work alongside residents, not above them, to build creative infrastructure that lasts beyond any single production or season.
Southwest Denver is home to vibrant Black, Latine, Indigenous, LGBTQ+, and working-class communities whose stories have been systematically underrepresented on American stages. Our programming centers these voices through facilitated story circles, intergenerational workshops, and free public performances that welcome neighbors who may never have set foot in a traditional theatre. We provide Spanish and ASL interpretation to ensure that language is never a barrier to participation.
Arts Education and Workforce Development
Our academy offers workshops and intensives that train community members in acting, playwriting, directing, stagecraft, and arts administration. We believe that arts education is workforce development — every workshop builds not only creative skill but also confidence, collaboration, and leadership capacity that transfer to every part of a participant's life. Our teaching artists are working professionals who reflect the communities they serve.
Through partnerships with local schools, libraries, and community centers, we bring theatre arts directly into neighborhoods across Southwest Denver. Our evidence-based storytelling methodology draws on oral history traditions, participatory action research, and community-based arts practices to ensure that the stories we help tell are grounded in lived experience rather than imposed from outside.
Get Involved
Whether you are a seasoned artist, a first-time storyteller, or a neighbor who has never been to a play, there is a place for you at Ruby Hill Productions. Attend a performance, join a workshop, share your story, or support our work as a donor or volunteer.
