What Freedom Means to US
Community Story Circles
We are thrilled to announce our inaugural production: What Freedom Means to US: Community Story Circles.
What Freedom Means to US invites southwest Denver residents to answer one question through their own stories: What does freedom mean at this moment in the United States? In the year of the nation’s 250th anniversary, a team of resident storytellers leads facilitated circles where neighbors share lived experience of freedom sought, withheld, and still hoped for. With craftsupport from RHP, residents shape selected stories into one free community performance, opento all, with Spanish and ASL interpretation as needed. Residents decide which stories are toldand how. The project surfaces the neighborhood’s existing assets, builds resident leadership, and brings communities that rarely share a room around one shared question.
Now Seeking: Director
We're currently seeking a director to assist with recruiting 6-8 resident storytellers, hold 4-6 facilitated story circles, help shape stories into short scripts, oversee rehearsals, stage at least one performance, and participate in a talk back.
